Continuing Education: 28 to 56 hrs
Available for Nurses, Massage and Bodywork Therapists and Occupational Therapists. There is a $15 processing fee due on the last day of class.

Who should attend? The four-day course incorporates lecture, discussion, video presentations, and a practicum experience with three parent-baby classes. Requirements to become a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM) include participation in the four-day workshop, completion of practice-teaching with five parents and successful completion of a written exam. Training Objectives: Infant massage, The infant massage process taught in this training is based on the pioneering work of Vimala McClure, author of Infant Massage: A Handbook for Loving Parents. · Participants receive in-depth training in the implementation of infant massage instruction.
Anyone involved with the health and well-being of families, including nurses, early childhood specialists, infant mental health professionals, massage therapists, childbirth educators, physical or occupational therapists and anyone interested in promoting nurturing touch as a parenting tradition.
Participants receive the books Infant Massage: A Handbook for Loving Parents and the Infant Massage Instructor Manual.
· Discuss current research on the effects of touch and infant massage.
· Describe the benefits of infant massage for parents, babies and society.
· Demonstrate skill in observing and guiding parents’ responses to their infant’s cues during massage.
· Assist parents to adapt massage for infants who are newborn, premature, or have special emotional or developmental needs.
· Adapt massage for the growing child.
· Demonstrate effective facilitation skills during group and individual instruction.

Assisting Vimala with the foundation of our trainings and organization is Audrey Downes, currently residing in Chico, California. This infant massage program is currently being taught in over 40 countries worldwide.
· This is a parent education program based on family strengths using nurturing touch and massage to promote the physical and emotional well-being of babies and young children.
· Parent instruction occurs in small parent-baby classes, in private sessions or in community parenting programs.
Infant Massage Trainer:
Olga M. Morris, FNP, brings to her trainings over 20 years of practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist.
She has been a Certified Parent Educator of
Infant Massage for the past 15 years, teaching weekly parent/baby classes in her home community in Cottonwood, AZ.
She is Certified as an International Trainer with Infant Massage USA,
the US Chapter of The International Association of Infant Massage, with headquarters in Sweden.
She joined the International Circle of Trainers in June, 2009 as the 49th of 50 Trainers worldwide.
Olga brings her passion for teaching, with her compassion for the individual process we share when learning and growing.
