Who should attend?

Anyone involved with the health and well-being of families; including nurses, early childhood specialists, infant mental health professionals, massage therapists, childbirth educators, physical or occupational therapists, and anyone interested in promoting nurturing touch as a parenting tradition.


The four-day course

incorporates lecture,

discussion, video

presentations, and a

practicum experience

with three parent-baby

classes.

Requirements to become a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM) include participation in the four-day workshop, completion of practice-teaching with five parents, and successful completion of a written exam.

Olga M. Morris, FNP, brings to her trainings over 20 years of practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist.


She has been a Certified Parent Educator of Infant Massage for the past 20 years, teaching weekly parent/baby classes in her home community in Cottonwood, AZ.


She is Certified as an International

Trainer with Infant Massage USA, the

Infant Massage: based on the       work of Vimala McClure


the infant massage process taught in this training is based on the pioneering work of Vimala McClure, author of Infant Massage: A Handbook for Loving Parents.


Assisting Vimala with the foundation of our trainings and organization is Audry Downes, currently residing in Chico, California. This infant massage program is currently being taught in over 40 countries worldwide.


Participants of this program receive in-depth training in the implementation of infant massage instruction.


Parent instruction occurs in small parent-baby classes, in private sessions, or in community parenting programs.

Training Objectives:
  • Discuss current research on the effects of touch and infant massage.
  • Describe the benefits of infant massage for parents, babies, and society.
  • Demonstrate skill in observing and guiding parents' responses to their infant's cues during massage.
  • Assist parents to adapt massage for infants who are newborn, premature, or have special emotional or developments needs.
  • Adapt massage for the growing child.
  • Demonstrate effective facilitation skills during group and individual instruction.

The Internantional Trainers meet every 2 years to update the curriculum, so you may trust that what you learn here in any of the trainings is truly a cross-cultural program for all families.

The Training Fees or Deposit to hold your space in the class of your choice may be done by either check or money order, or by credit card through the registration links above.

Continuing Education: from 28 to 56 hours

Infant massage USA is an approved provider for Continuing Education Credits (CEU) for:

Nurses, Massage & Bodywork Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and in some states, Physical Therapists. Credit given for DONA and for those seeking certification in Infant Mental Health.


There is a $15 processing fee, due to Infant Massage USA, on the last day of class (for CEU's). All class participants, however, will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance at no additional charge.
